Duplexing and Grade

The adaptive system's first duty is to do no harm to the reading in progress. A word that moves is a word the eye must find again; a line that re-breaks steals the reader's place. Whatever the response to falling light, it must arrive on metrics that do not move, or the cure will cost more than the condition. This is why the grade axis, and not weight, is the adaptive workhorse.
