Woman today is buried before she is born. She comes into this world and is immediately thrust upon with rules and guidelines of conduct and on how to live her life. She is not an Individual. She is conditioned so she can be either be coveted, or grow up to be a memento to her family’s oh-so-good job of having raised her ‘honorably’; preferably both. She is expected not to have her own opinions of how she perceives the world, she is a harlot if she dresses in attire that makes her feel beautiful. She cannot walk down the street without eyes roving over her Being, she cannot exist without being judged on her gender. She is weary. Living -even existing- as a human being becomes a dreary trudging task with all these eyes, watching, wanting, expecting her to fall.
She is drowning.

Full Page Design

After a long and busy semester finally got time to design something for myself. I have my buddies (my phone, laptop and camera) who accompany me wherever I go except in loo (but my phone goes there with me :p). Giving a personal touch to my belonging is my hobby and in this small vacation it’s the turn of my Samsung Galaxy Note.

Design Process

The design process started with a small research on the quotes which suited me and my personality. Brainyquote is the place where I found the one; also this one is my favorite as I have read the book based on the same quote by Paul Arden.

It’s Not How Good You Are,

Its How Good You Want to Be.

After I finalized the quote it was the time to sketch a typeface which suits this quote. So I decided cursive text with long blobby decenders flying up and down. First I sketched on paper using a pencil and then inking it with Staedler pigment liner 0.2. So my base design was ready and it was showtime. I cleaned the surface of my Samsung Galaxy Note cover and took another weapon from my design inventory “Linc Uni-ball Signo UM 100″ to design my cover and here are some clicks to show you what I did and the final result.
